So it looks like there's a little more to the Van's Fixed Gear London Romance than just a prototype bike SuperTED whipped up. Find more pictures of the London crew here...
For some reason Vimeo isn't working on my workstation but that makes me a little more productive. This one looks good and clean from what I can see. Looking forward to checking it out tonight. You can beat me to the punch and watch it right here right now right here right now right here right now.
I'd like to throw out an additional thanks for a last minute sponsor. The ladies of Triathablog are going to throw a prize into the mix and we're grateful. Check out their blog and what they've got going on over here.
Also there's a mr. cool guy that's half way promised some mr. cool stuff. More details on that coming soon.
Here's shots of the Fixed Gear London Vans project bike. I'm not certain on the details of Vans involvement here but the bike has great stuff going on. SuperTED and a guy named Andy had their hands in the project. Nice straight no rake fork, Charge saddle, Profile hubs (Terrence), Thomson stem and seat-post. On a partially related side note, I put my eyes on Faith's fixed Vans. They're different than the ones I have as there is less padding and the entire shoe is ripstop. There's a reflective band around shoe opening and they're all blacked out. From what Mark Leo's ghost told me they're classics and mine are Era's? I'll never understand the Van's nomenclature but they're dope. There's 4-5 pairs left and I was told special orders can be made. The more we support local stores that bring in fixed specific products the more there will be. Get out and buy ems!
Last night was a great time. Thanks Clay for organizing it and making the Flava of Bike medallion. Keep your eyes on Brocycle for the results cause I'm not going to spoil nuthin.
P and S, we just broke 3000 hits since we set up the counter. That's prolly not that many in comparison to other blogs but Woo Hoo regardless.
Does this guy do any tricks outside of this park? I've seen him ride up a tree. Gap a sidewalk and now this all right there... There'd be so much to think about w/ this. Crank position, hop height, catching the bars. Kudo's ST...
There's so much new gear available as of today. Take a look at some of the new goodies.
More Era's. Faith now has one of the fixed Vans but I'm not certain what one... Could be the black colorway in this batch.
Cadence Era 5
Here's got to be the best of the findings. It's a one off Cadence jacket w/ windproof chest and reflective details. Already sold so tisk tisk on that one.
Dave's Quality TEAM (meat) has started selling Vans Fixed Gear Era's. Get yours sliced deli thin. Setting foot in DQM is on my Bucket List. Just behind kicking Ashton Kutcher in the marbles and right before Skydiving w/ Jack Nicholson.
Now there's something about these I might have seen before but I can't put my finger on it...
The prize tires given out at Connect 4 (thanks Jonathan) were the Soma Everwear. Here's a nice test that Alan mentioned from Cog Magazine. Too bad they didn't test the local's favorite Continental Gatorskin. The $40 Everware tested well w/ 160+ skids. If you're like me and can't or won't swing $30 for 4 magazines then you probably haven't seen this.
But then again, no one skids anymore anyways. And that's just sad...
Fun night last night. Braxton going wild on the 4 bike track-stand pictured below. The camera in my cellphone is pretty crackerjack so the picture is grainier than a loaf of Big Sky bread.
I'm wanting to get an early start tomorrow. If you want to get riding earlier than the normal 6-7 give me a call. I'll be back at the normal spot in front of Gallery Lofts @ 7. Send me a message if you want to get out before then... Jarrodallen@gmail.com
So Freeman Transport launched their site today. Go take a look at what they've got going on. There's something amazing about fitting a bicycle into a 26" x 26" x 10" suitcase. Not this amazing tho...
