Terrence Trevails bicycles to live by, 2009 Edition

Durcus One Master

DURCUS ONE MASTER TRACK BIKE from W-BASE BICYCLE GARAGE on Vimeo.

MASI unknown

Schwinn (the) Cutter

They claimed to name this one after the team in Breaking Away but I'm thinking it was named after the Echo and the Bunnymen song.

Bianchi Pista (Flat Bar)

Leader 735 TR/TT (at least I think that it is) This frame looks really good and stout. I'm not certain what Van Dessel is but it sounds bald and steroid ridden. I'm pretty sure this is the Leader frame but not certain. I've been eyeing the Leader because it looks pretty good and is fairly affordable. I've heard good and bad things about this frame and it all comes back to the way you ride I suppose.

New Trek DISTRICT?

This could be a shot of the new Trek DISTRICT. Or it could just be someones build. bicycledesign cited the picture as being from Trek World 09. As for a off the shelf ride this thing doesn't look all that bad. Color choices are strong. As for me I'm always going to be a fan of custom build ups. Trek's legal might pull this picture so I'm going to save it rather than linking.

P.S. if anyone knows how I can watch the video of Clay's newscast cameo, LINK ME...

Moving by bike in NY

Bike Move NYC from Nicholas Whitaker on Vimeo.

Wish I knew more about this.

Seems like Cinelli might be might be teaming up with the MASH guys to make a team frame. It looks a little racey for what I would expect to see from MASH.
What I do know is that they were posted by Gabe's partner Mike Martin and one of the frames has G.Chow on it which inevitably stands for Garrett Chow.

Sunday Night Ride - 8/9/08

Meet on 2nd Ave between Gallery Lofts/FAITH at 6:30 for repairs. Be ready to ride at 7PM (it will be great weather).

UPDATE - I checked the weather this morning. It looks as if we might have some storms later on in the day. Just keep your eyes peeled. The ride should still be on just check your doppler first before you drive from a far away land (like Tuscaloosa or Argo).

Rickshaw Bagworks

Been a lot going on in the bag realm lately. Take a look at Rickshaw Bagworks Flickr Photostream. Stuff looks pretty alright.

So incredibly unrelated...

So my wife showed me this video the other night and I thought that I'd share. News is slow and everyone needs a good chuckle from time to time.

eBay Lay-a-Way - Black MKS GR9 Pedals

MKS GR-9 Pedals BLACK Fixed Track LIMITED RUN!

So We're going to start posting stuff we like on the Old eBay Seasoning that might be of interest. This particular item is the pedal Alan and I ride. I've never seen it before in black. It's a great pedal for cornering fast but doesn't work so hot if you're going to be riding outside the cages as there's not that much of a platform on the bottomside. The pedals I had on my bike before these were causing me to pedal strike when I took turns too hard. These work perfect. Price is about on par with what I paid at Milwaukee/Ben's Cycle.

deal of a steal

Update, There's a thread Alan mentioned last night going on here. I'm riding my $10 bag w/ pride. I know it's a knock off but buying a legit $200 messenger bag falls just behind buying a true track frame and a crank that doesn't clank on the ole' list of priorities. One day I hope to own a Chrome or R.E.Load but in the mean time this $10.00 special is going to serve me well. No one can argue that those bags are better in every way but price.

Just bought a messenger bag from U.O.
It's much nicer than the pictures let on.
It's no Chrome or Reload but it's built pretty tough. Inside is lined with ruberized cordura nylon and the outside is equally tough. Not certain on the capacity but it's pretty big.
Best part is that they're $9.99. in store and 19.99 on the internet. If you ride tonight you'll see that it looks a little better on than in the pictures.

Ray Underhill - RIP

Most of you younger folks won't know who this but Ray Underhill was apart of the Bones Brigade. I remember first seeing him in "The Search for Animal Chin" (1987) in the backyard ramp jam. Friday morning in North Carolina Ray Underhill died due to complications with his Chordoma cancer. He will be greatly missed.

On one hand it's taking more and more skill to really impress me. On the other hand we've got a lot of catching up to do....

see you all sunday night

In two nights we ride

We're going to get out again this Sunday night. The time isn't 100% but we'll shoot for 6:30 or so. If you can't make it in time call Mark or me to find out where we are. I've got a little bit of bike work to do before I get out again.
Have a great weekend.

Post Card

I'm enjoying vacation. I surfed Sunday from morning to noon then the waves started dying out. I then went to a local bowl to skate. Sorry for no action shots of surfing. I do have footage but I left my firewire cable at home. I will try to borrow one from the local Apple store. I left the Outer Banks, NC and am now in Charleston, SC. There are fixies all over the place. People are skating and riding bikes all over. It seems to be allowed here to ride/skate in the middle of the street. In fact I skated down a couple of blocks to the Apple store last night. It was fun to get my shred on. I miss my bike though.....have a good week guys.

What the?

Sorry,
I'm bored...

Kinda like the others.

OBEY is jumping on board with a collaboration with FUJI.

Eff Why Eye

I copied this out of the July issue of ONB Synergy Newsletter. Looks like this is what's going on in the Glass Elevators. I wonder if they will be able to catch some footage for us and upload it to youtube?

City Parking Decks Now Even Safer:
The Birmingham Parking Authority is installing new, color, digital camera equipment in all City-owned parking decks. The new equipment replaces aging, analog, black and white technology which can no longer be maintained. The new systems offer expanded video archival and retrieval capabilities designed to enhance security in the decks.
The funding for the refit was included in the same City bond issue for the expansion of City Parking Deck #3.

Not everyone is going to be into these but I dig em and you might too. Matt linked one of these sites in a comment and I wanted to put it where everyone could see it.

little driftle

Sometimes MACAFRAMA videos will knock me down and other times the skill level of their videos will induce yawning. That said they never let down when it comes to riding style, music choices, nice rides but most of all filming style and quality. Here's their latest beautifully exemplifying some basic fixed gear riding. Unlike most fixed gear videos I get the impression that their commercials don't give away the best parts of their finished product.

Enjoy and happy Tuesday...

What's going on here.

I've read most of the FIXED magazine that just came out and I'm clueless as to how I missed this? I have no Idea how this is possible but I'm going to try it. Loving what's happening at CHARGE.

Confession Time

Mark,

Clint and I were thirsty so we went to Milo's w/o you. It came back around on me though when my back tire suffered the same fate as yours. I gotta invest in some gator skins. Ever since I started the short seated drifts I've been chewing up some tires.

Thanks everyone for coming out tonight. There were 11 fixed gear bikes if I'm counting correctly and 4-5 others. Seth's Aerospokes and Terry's all white Velocity's looked good.

Dream Riding

Some of you guys have seen Pedal Mafia before and some might not. It's a fun way to blow 10 min.

Here's the stats on my latest.
Leader frame stripped and powdered matte white
Same wheels
Soma 4 gate cages
green King headset
Riser bars to match the frame w/ some green Oury's
BMX stem
and same cranks powdered to match.

If you build a ride post a link...

I could use one of these about now.

So I'm heading to Boston tomorrow for work. I have way too much to get ready for that trip to be messing around on the blog but yeah. I was just telling someone about how bad I wanted to take a bike and ride the city. If I only had a Freeman it'd be possible.

Freeman Transport just finished their first batch and they look perfect.
